Accessorizing Your Pier

Accessorizing Your Pier

Pier systems can be accessorized in a variety of ways to suit your personal needs. Several of these pier accessories make it easy to store a variety of items that are frequently used on the water. Investing in a few pier accessories can make your pier space much more functional.

Piers are an excellent starting point for a canoe or kayak ride, and if the canoes or kayaks are stored right on the pier, it makes them all the more convenient. A canoe or kayak bracket attached to the side of the pier gives you a quick, easy place to store kayaks and canoes so they don’t float away.

How can you keep the untrained steering of amateurs on the water from ruining you pier? Consider installing boat bumpers. Vinyl boat bumpers that are easy to clean and cover a good length of the posts on the pier are a good choice. Several boat bumpers on the market can be cleaned easily with acetone so you can maintain the professional look of your pier. Ideally, the bumpers should also be height adjustable to compensate for fluctuations in water level.

Some days you are just going to want to go out on the pier and relax and for that it is a nice idea to have benches on the pier. Cedar or vinyl benches are quite inexpensive and are a nice accent for your pier. Look for benches with galvanized steel frames since they will provide the most durability and be able to withstand the weather conditions near the water.

It is very unsightly when you head out on your pier and look in the water and see all sorts of algae and other vegetation floating on the surface. Several varieties of water rakes are available that can help you to skim this sort of debris off the water and keep your pond or lake clean. An aquatic weed eradicator cuts this type of vegetation away right at the root to prevent its re-growth all without the need for dangerous chemicals that can harm the sea life and wild life near your pond or lake.

All-purpose storage on the pier can be provided in a cost effective manner with lockers attached to the pier. These lockers come in a variety of sizes and are often made of fiberglass so they are resistant to severe weather conditions. A good quality locker will also have some form of shock absorption system to handle any movement of the dock without damaging the items inside of it.

Finally, a good set of high quality steps and ladders are absolutely essential for a functional pier. Steps and ladders allow users to enter and exit the water easily and safely. For deep water, ladders are preferred, whereas in shallow water, a short set of steps is usually sufficient. Be sure to check the weight rating of the steps or ladder to make sure it is sufficient for those who will be using the pier. Most are rated at about 500 pounds. Ladders should be able to be adjusted with the rise and fall of water levels to make sure they are always firmly planted on the riverbed. The proper accessories for your pier will ensure it a place that family and friends will enjoy for many years to come.

Draw Attention from Potential Customers with Banners

Attention with Banners Banners are great ways to advertise your business, service, a marathon, a founder’s day picnic or a multitude of other events or services. Banners have been a popular method of advertising for years. Just visit any beach in the United States and you will see small airplanes pulling large banners, advertising sales on sunglasses and beach towels. While this is a creative way to market beach products, you don’t have to own an airplane to use banners for your business.

The next time you want to get the word out about your business products or services, order banners online. Banners can be used to advertise a special sale, a seasonal promotion, a grand opening or even a big announcement such as a change in management. Banners are a great advertising tool for churches and charities too. They can advertise bake sales, fund raisers, community events and more.

Banners can be custom made or pre-printed, and they are made from durable vinyl material. If you are having a special sale in your store, pre-printed vinyl banners can be ordered online and shipped the same day. These banners are made on thirteen ounce vinyl materials, with hemmed edges and little grommets every few feet for easy hanging. Get them pre-printed with things like “Entire Inventory on Sale Today” or “Huge Sale” and get them in bright, rich, vibrant colors to get customers curious enough to step inside the door.

Banners can also be used to announce a wedding, or maybe a country or county fair. You can buy or order some banners that are considered pre-printed stock banners. Just think of the businesses around you that use banners. You may not think about them as advertising but they are a good way to pique people’s interest and get them to at least drive by and catch a glimpse of what you are offering.

We see these Pre-Printed Vinyl Banners everyday that say, “Welcome” or “Come on in”, or “Pizza”, or maybe they just say, “Sale” on them. Whatever they have printed on them, it is advertising at its finest. Banners can also be custom made and a lot of businesses may need that type of service. This can all be done online as you can quickly upload your logo and design the banner according to your preferences. You can pay with several options including credit cards and PayPal. Shipping options are also available and upgrades are available for faster delivery.

Colors and sizes are available in several options, the most popular sizes are 3 x8 and 4 x 8, but you can get them as large as 4 x 20. When you receive your order, you will get instant benefits as people notice your beautiful new advertisement.

When you are finished with the banner, just roll it up with the graphics on the outside and place it in a cool, dry place. If you need to clean the banner, don’t use cleaners or a solvent, just a damp rag. These banners are made to have a long life and they are highly durable and weather resistant when you care for them properly.

Cost Control, Compliance and Best Practice Procurement

Cost Control

While these administrative efficiencies help organizations shave costs from the expense management process, the most significant benefits typically come from exerting greater control over expenditure itself. Non-PO purchases have long been a source of friction within finance departments, yet few organizations could claim to exercise the kind of control over expense that they exert over other areas of expenditure. During the Internet boom years of the late 1990s, a number of initiatives were launched in an effort to reduce and control indirect procurement in areas such as office supplies, including online marketplaces - but systems to control expense-based procurement have enjoyed a far lower profile. Yet many organizations that have embarked on expense automation projects report significant savings through better compliance, with research from independent organizations showing average savings of around 10 per cent.

The control that these systems offer comes in two expense forms: reactive and preventative. While some organizations centralise larger purchases or mandate specific suppliers for travel or hotel bookings, in practice most preventative control generally consists of little more than a set of guidelines about the kinds of expenditure that are authorized and the financial parameters. The rest of the approval activity comes after the event, when funds have already been spent. Whether it’s on a corporate credit card or personal expenditure, post-event disputes can be stressful for individual employees and frustrating for line managers and finance, particularly where poor decisions have been made on the basis of misunderstandings. More important, in a compliance-intensive global regulatory environment, this lack of upfront control and poor visibility into expenditure may be a liability.

Expense management systems allow organizations to improve both their reactive and preventative control. At the simplest level, they provide automated monitoring to ensure that claims comply with corporate policy. Using pre-configured rules, systems can be set up to reject or query claims that breach price or quantity thresholds, based either on the category of expense, employee seniority or role. Conversely, they can be configured to accept all expenses below a certain level, freeing managers and administrators from the burden of overseeing small purchases. The systems can also be set up to monitor possible duplicate claims - whether made deliberately or in error - and give warning of late filing.

What Do I Need for FTA?

FTA Receivers

If you are interested in getting free television programming, you will need appropriate equipment from FTA. Many people have never heard of this service, but FTA is techie talk for the term “Free to Air,” which is the term used to describe satellite TV broadcast signals that can be received free with the correct FTA equipment. Equipment costs are the only cost you will incur with FTA. FTA systems are very affordable for anyone. There are no monthly subscriptions, no contracts and no programming packages to add on; all FTA programming is free and completely legal. There is no better bargain out there than free FTA viewing.

The correct FTA equipment consists of a satellite dish and receiver designed to handle unencrypted FTA signals. This is the defining difference between FTA and services such as Digital TV or Dish Satellite pay services. Pay satellite services utilize encrypted or coded signals. The subscriber pays the service to decode the signal which enables viewing of the programming. The control mechanism used by paid satellite TV is the encryption of the signal. FTA is made possible by the hundreds of stations around the world that are broadcasting non-coded or unencrypted signals. These unencrypted signals are “fair game” and may be received at no charge by anyone with an FTA system designed to specifically pick up unencrypted signals.
It is this ability to receive unencrypted signals that makes free satellite TV a reality.

The cost of an FTA satellite system is extremely reasonable. Depending on your viewing intent you can expect to pay between $130 and $430 for a complete ready to install system. To help make a decision as to what system you will need, go online and check out the sites that list the current satellite lists and what programs are available on each satellite. Most of these sites also conveniently add the satellite coordinates to aid you in locking in on the various satellites. If you find that you are primarily interested in viewing the channels from one satellite, a stationary system would be sufficient for your viewing requirements. However, if you find you would like to view channels from multiple satellites you will need to purchase a motorized system to allow you to surf between satellites.

For a single satellite viewing FTA system you will pay around $130. This very affordable, high quality system enables the user to lock into and access all programming from one satellite at a time. If you opt for browsing multiple satellites, a motorized system controlled by a remote is the best way to go. Depending on how technically complex the motorized system you can expect the price for your system to be in the $150-$430 range. These are all state-of-the-art, high quality systems designed for easy switching from satellite to satellite. The higher end systems are WiFi ready and come with an Ethernet port for Internet capability.

Why pay for what you can have for free? FTA satellite will provide you hours of entertainment and information for free. FTA is here now, why wait?

Why Fioricet (Butalbital)?

Doctors Mask

Doctors have tried to come up with a cure for headaches for years. Today, we do not have a solution but there are numerous drugs when it comes to providing physical relief from the symptoms associated with them. One of the most efficient drugs is Fioricet.

If you are suffering from tension headaches or migraines, then be sure to pay a visit to your doctor and discuss about a possible treatment with Fioricet. You will be informed about the ingredients of the drug, their effects and dosage. The medication is only recommended to adults and there are no conclusive studies to attest the positive effects on unborn babies. Inform the doctor about being pregnant or if you plan on having a baby. The treatment schedule might be changed or ever stopped. Breast-feeding is also a situation where Fioricet might not be recommended as the best treatment for your headaches.

Fioricet is in fact a combination of three drugs, administered orally as tablets. These drugs are present in different quantities, with acetaminophen being the primary one (a tablet of Fioricet contains 325 mg of active substance). Fioricet also contains 50 mg of butalbital and a similar quantity of caffeine. If butalbital has been established as a powerfully acting sedative-hypnotic drug, acetaminophen is known to be a commonly used analgesic which also has antipyretic properties. The effects of caffeine are known very well, this being one of the reasons why this substance has been added to a drug capable of alleviating the symptoms of migraines.

Even though Fioricet is prescribed as a treatment for headaches, doctors warn patients constantly about the abuse potential this drug presents. The substance to blame is butalbital which can genuinely be habit forming and cause dependence. Caution has strictly to do with the dosage. If one follows the treatment precisely and takes Fioricet exactly as prescribed, there can be no talk of either physical or mental dependence. Speaking about dosage, patients are indicated to take a maximum dosage of two tablets at a 4 hour interval. There is a strict rule regarding the number of tablets a patient is allowed to ingest on a daily basis, that number being six and not one more. Taking an increased number of pills or prolonging the treatment over the recommended period will only result in dependence.

What do Fioricet tablets look like? They are round, have the color of a light shade of blue and have dots imprinted on them. They are easily recognizable thanks to the Fioricet logo and the special-made profile imprinted on each side of the tablet. The recommended temperature for storage is 30 degrees Celsius and specialists warn against leaving the container unsupervised.

Patients can experience a wide range of side-effects caused by either of the ingredients. Studies have shown that some of these adverse reactions occur more often, while others are encountered extremely rare. Common side-effects registered with Fioricet treatments are sedation, vertigo and a sleepy state. Patients might also feel weak and likely to faint, have difficulty breathing or feel euphoric. Vegetative functions can be affected as well in some cases, with symptoms like nausea or vomiting appearing in patients who have followed treatments with Fioricet.

There is a series of rare side-effects reported in some patients who have taken Fioricet, especially those that have taken the medication for a longer period of time. These include: feelings of agitation associated with trembling and mental confusion. Some patients have even started to feel depressed after having taken Fioricet, the doctor recommended them to end the treatment gradually.

Excessive quantities of Fioricet can affect any of the body’s systems or organs. They can make one’s mouth feel dry, produce heartburn or cause the heart muscle to contract rapidly. Patients have experienced muscle weakness, skin allergies and booming sensations in the ear. Toxic epidermal necrolysis has been reported extremely rare, in patients who had their immunity compromised. Acetaminophen can also be held responsible for serious side-effects in patients who have ingested large concentrations. From cutaneous rash to acute blood disorders such as agranulocytosis, acetaminophen is without doubt one of the most dangerous ingredients of Fioricet. It’s not for nothing that doctors set up a treatment schedule and recommend patients to follow it to the letter!

Political Push

Political Push If you are part of the field staff for a political campaign you may have been asked to secure lawn signs for the candidate you are supporting. These small signs are placed in the lawns of a candidate’s supporters in order to build a larger base. Lawn signs may also be placed near polling places to sway undecided voters on Election Day. In addition to these reasons, many candidates believe that placing the sign in a certain yard can bring them special attention.

Yard signs come in various shapes and many different sizes. Typically most yard signs are rectangular with a perimeter of 1.5’ X 2’. Some larger signs may be found near larger streets or highways. A good way to judge the size of sign you should use is the speed limit of the street. If the street is in a residential neighborhood with a slow to moderate speed limit, stay small. If the street is in a business district with a higher speed limit, the larger the better. A good yard sign is constructed from corrugated plastic. These signs are nearly indestructible. They can be blown around, knocked over and even tossed aside by the kids without damage. These signs are then secured into the ground by the use of wooden stakes or metal wire frames.

Generally the information on a lawn sign consists of the candidates name, party and the desired office. Slogans and election date may also be added. In some states you are also required to state who paid for the sign. Determine whether this is required in your state before ordering your signs.

Another potentially embarrassing situation is the breach of law by not knowing the appropriate locations for your signs. While most sign locations are determined simply by usefulness, not all can be. In many areas there are laws about how close a sign can be to a poling place. While placing signs along the main road that leads to a polling place is an excellent idea to persuade undecided voters, it could cost your candidate the election. Before placing any signs in this area check the laws.

Traditionally, the number and location of lawn signs is meant to make others believe the candidate is the proper choice. For this reason, placing the signs in front of well-known local businesses or at the home of a popular community leader is believed to sway votes.

If your candidate is running his or her campaign on a small budget consider selling your campaign banners rather than giving them away. Charging a fraction of the actual price of the sign will allow you to reduce your expenditures. Most loyal supporters will not disagree to paying a small fee for your sign.

Stick with these rules and you will play a vital role in helping your candidate get elected. Signage is as important to a campaign as it is to a business. The signs you select and distribute will give others the crucial information they will need to decide who to vote for. Be smart and you will succeed.

Choosing Great Displays for Your Business

Business Displays

If you are a vendor and hold expo events or participate in trade shows on a daily, weekly, monthly or bi-monthly basis, then you need great display supplies to make your business stand out and shine among the competition. Good displays are one of the easiest ways to promote your products and services to potential customers.

Some important items that you should always have on hand for trade show opportunities are foldable display tables, banners that are retractable, foam board displays, standing banners and mobile literature dispensers. These are the basic elements of an effective display that is fully portable for any location where you need to travel.

Once you have these basic elements, there are a few additional items that can be used to enhance your displays. Spotlights are a great tool to help accent a particular product or a service that you are running a special on. Maybe you are renting a booth at the exhibition hall in a town, and you need brochure holders or extra large pop up displays or custom foam boards. Posters or banners always come in handy when you are doing promotions on the go.

Choosing customized display pieces can be quite time consuming, so using a one stop display website might be your best course of action. There are websites that offer every imaginable display and you can have them customized with your company’s graphics or logos as needed. For an inexperienced business entrepreneur, you might have questions about what you will actually need for your first trade show exhibit. By ordering all your supplies from one web site, you can get insight into the best combination of displays for your business. Customer service professionals can assist you if you have any trouble setting up the displays or taking them down at the end of the trade show. Customer support is important and you need to be able to reach them any time of the day or night, seven days a week.

Perhaps you need your supplies delivered to a location across the country. If you are traveling a long distance to do a trade show, you might not have the space to haul your displays in the car. Free shipping to the hotel where you are staying for the trade show might be of importance. The comfort of knowing that your tools will be there waiting for you will help relieve the stress you may already be feeling about your first trade show or the 100th trade show where you are going to display your wares.

Perhaps it is the ability to shop online and pay with a company credit card that gives you the peace of mind. Whatever your needs may be, there are websites that offer these services. The ability to get what you need when you need it, and having it shipped free and to the destination of your choice are crucial. Also, knowing that your company credit card will be accepted and that you have 24-hour, 7 days-a-week customer support are very important if you are a vendor that has displays or booths at trade shows all over the world.

Save Money on Mobile Phones

Mobile Phones

Have you seen the prices that mobile phone companies are charging these days? As mobile phones offer new features with each passing year, the prices spike higher and higher. While the new technology is helpful for some people, others find it almost unnecessary. Most consumers prefer to choose the features that they need without paying for features that they will never use.
Some phone companies offer various deals and incentives to lure consumers into signing contracts. Some of these deals are really worth your attention while others are only going to cost you more money in the long run. If you want to truly sort through the incentives and save the most money on your calling plan, you will need some guidance along the way.
You can learn a lot about incentives and sales online by reading consumer reviews. This will also tip you off to some of the scams that are going on with mobile phones today. The best plan is to look for a company that specializes in finding the most current, money saving offers on mobile phones and calling plans.
These companies will lay out side-by-side comparisons of prices, features and special incentives offered by each carrier. They will also provide you with the most current offers as they become available. For instance, many mobile phone companies offer free phones when you sign a two year agreement. You need to know which of these carriers offers the best prices to see if it is worth the free phone to sign such a long term contract.
When you want to save money on mobile phones, you will also need to ask a few important questions. As you research phones online, keep in mind the features you actually need and what you can live without. Does the company provide insurance on the mobile phone? Does it cost an additional price? Is there a deductible required before the insurance takes effect? Does the phone include a built-in storage system for music and video downloads? Does it offer wireless internet capabilities? Does it have a camera? Can your photos be easily uploaded to a computer? Does it have text messaging capabilities? How much does it cost to use each of these features? Is blue tooth capability included in the service plan?
These are all important questions that you need to ask before you commit to purchasing any mobile phone or calling plan. Don’t rush into a contract before you’ve done your research. When you are short on time, find a great online resource that specializes in compiling a complete library of current phone plans and available features. Read consumer reviews to find out if the phone is really worth the money.
If you want to save the most money, look for special offers for free phones. Just make sure you don’t get locked into a contract that you can’t pay for. Find out the hidden fees and surcharges. Ask about return policies and find out if there is a grace period for you to cancel your contract if you aren’t happy with your new mobile phone. When you follow these tips, you can save money and get a great mobile phone and calling plan on a budget.

retirement party

When your spouse, best friend or special coworker is ready to retire, it is time to throw a special retirement party for them. Retirement is a very special celebration marking the end of their working career. Accomplishments should be recognized and best wishes for a great retirement offered. What better way to do that than to have a special retirement party honoring the retiree.

Retirement party decorations are readily available in any form you can imagine: streamers, banners, hats, t-shirts, centerpieces, balloons and more. You can really go all out and use tableware, confetti and dangling cutout decorations to reinforce the retirement theme.

Balloons are always a good party selection as they can be filled with helium and allowed to float (indoors) or weight them for placement where they will be highly visible. Balloons with retirement motifs are available in either elegant or lighthearted designs. Balloons with images of the sun shining over the open road for the traveling retiree or palm trees swaying on a tropical beach for the sun seeker are nice ways to express your best wishes for a fun retirement. For under $2 per balloon you can afford to decorate with multiple balloon bouquets.

Banners provide best wishes for a great retirement with splashes of color strung overhead or along walls at the very affordable prices of $4-$6. A large 60” x 20” sign hung on a wall also offers a hearty retirement wish for only $6.

Table centerpieces offer best wishes at around $4 in bright, highly visible colors and designs. To complete the table decoration, retirement themed napkins, plates, tablecloths and food trays splash color on the “sit down” area of the party. Attendees will eat and drink from color coordinated plates and cups with plastic ware chosen to either blend in or stand out from the colors of the tableware décor. All products are disposable for easy clean up after the party. You can buy 8-10 ½” plates for $5, 8-9 oz. paper drink cups for around $3 and a package of 16 dinner napkins for $4; all retirement themed.

For a fun final touch, confetti may be strewn around the tables and the party area, streamers strung overhead to accent signs and banners along with crinkle shred placed around stand up decoration accents and centerpieces. These accents are extremely reasonably priced at $.69 for streamers, under $3 for bagged confetti and under $2 for crinkle shred.

Gifts such a t-shirts and hats are a nice touch for the retiree to commemorate both the retirement and the party. Retirement t-shirts sell for $25 and baseball style hats are available from $6-$9 making them a very attractive gift.

Planning a retirement party is easy when you use plenty of color and decoration. It does not have to be expensive, very reasonable options are available to make your party fun, colorful and very memorable. Send your retiree off into the future with all your best wishes and a bash they will remember.

Publication Trends in the Anti-Aging Skin Care Industry

Teen Skin Care

Teen Use of Wrinkle Cream

Teenagers have begun to use wrinkle cream. It has nothing to do with wrinkle removal but everything to do with “being cool”. Apparently you are not cool unless you are using wrinkle cream. There is no scientific basis for teens to use these creams. Effective wrinkle creams promote growth of new cells and production of collagen. Teenage skin produces an ample supply of both and thus, there is no real need for these products. The source of this bizarre trend is most likely the feeling of empowerment that using adult products gives the teen. It simply makes them feel grown up.

One truly strange by product of this trend is that parents are trying the products their children are using and end up being users themselves. As a by product of their children’s behavior parents have started using the creams. Sales are increasing.

Specialist’s see no danger in this trend. Teenagers are concerned with fitting in and acting mature, even if they aren’t. This trend is no different than the thousands that came before. If you are a parent of a cream using teenager, rest assured this is a harmless fad.

Nascar and Wrinkle Cream

Unexpected popularity amongst Nascar race fans has made wrinkle cream manufacturers very happy. Apparently this group of people understands the damaging effect of sun exposure and the long term effect it has on the skin. Wrinkle cream manufacturers offered discounted pricing and trial samples at the Daytona 500 last year. Men reportedly were as enthusiastic as women about the products. The most popular product was a rejuvenation system. Trial samples were rapidly dispersed and manufacturers were amazed at how many samplers returned to place an order. Wrinkle cream manufacturers are looking into further advertising with Nascar due to the overwhelming response received by their products.

Wrinkle Creams - Next Status Symbol

We used to base our feelings of status on the clothing we were wearing, our hand bags, our shoes, jewelry and vehicles. Name brands were bandied about like a ping pong ball when friends met. The use of Botox to reduce wrinkles is very expensive so women held parties at which time they would share the cost of the vial of Botox. With the recent downturn in our economy, Botox is being replaced by wrinkle creams. In many circles it has become fashionable to wear and discuss favorite creams. Apparently the decision to use wrinkle cream has little or no relation to actually having wrinkles. Bottles are flying off the shelf. Wrinkles are not required for buying and using wrinkle creams.

There is a wrinkle cream for every budget. Some are willing to pay large amounts for the expensive medical grade creams. Others head to straight to Wal-Mart for the less expensive versions of wrinkle creams. For every budget there is an affordable wrinkle cream available. This is truly an amazing trend due to the fact that regardless of economic status, all women can participate.

Beware of the products you choose, do your research before you leap in and purchase. Just because a wrinkle cream is the most expensive does not necessarily mean it is the most effective.
Furthermore, it may not work at all; some creams are made with ingredients that have no chance of working. The best, most effective creams probably are the middle price range products.

Compounding the confusion with wrinkle cream selection is the overwhelming amount of information available. The amount of information is daunting, made worse by the fact that some of the information is misleading if not false. Many consumers have been fooled into spending extensive amounts of money on products that have no effect whatsoever.

In Conclusion

The dissemination of information about the Anti-Aging Skin Care Industry takes many forms. The three segments above all come from publications about teenager trends, Nascar and status symbols. Word of mouth, the Internet and the media all serve to spread the word about products. We can buy from anywhere in the world for home delivery or we can buy in person at our local stores. Whether needed or not, whether they work or not, anti-aging products are a part of our modern experience.
